PROJECTS

Amenities    Cards are sent for birthdays to our members and flowers to those who have illnesses of surgeries, and sympathy cards when needed.


Back Packs and Supplies    Every year the club buys backpacks for disadvantaged school children in San Ramon and Dublin...and the members donate supplies to fill the backpacks.


Blankets    Members cut and tie blankets for shelters and places where they are needed in this ongoing year-round project.

Blue Star Moms     Supplies are donated by our members then given to the organization for distribution overseas to our military troops.


Canine Companions    Through our monetary donations, we support this worthy organization so they may train and pair service dogs with disabled individuals thus improving the quality of their lives.


Children's Emergency Food Bank    Located in Dublin, this organization provides food for the needy through our food and monetary donations.  Designated months but an ongoing project.


Comfort Bags for the Homeless    Working with Sarah's Blessings, we provide bags of shampoo, lotions, toothbrushes and toothpaste, etc. They are then distributed among homeless encampments.  Ongoing project


Coupons for the Military    Cutting parties are arranged, members cut during the evening section, and coupons are sent to the military emabling them to save money buying groceries and needed items. Ongoing project


Computer Printer Cartridges (used)    Members donate used printer cartridges which are given to Staples who then gives us a discount on items needed to run our club.  Ongoing project


DHPA    Dublin Historical Preservation


Dr. Seuss    Members read to children at several elementary schools within San Ramon and Dublin on Dr. Seuss's birthday.

Dublin Pride   School children make posters with a Dublin Pride theme that comes from the city.


Dublin/San Ramon Senior Centers    Both centers have a Resource Fair when packets of information are distributed to participants, and San Ramon also hosts the pancake breakfast. We set up a table and give out profiles etc.


EDGE     Our Club makes a monetary donation for supplies for the EDGE Seminar for high school leaders.


Free the Girls    We collect gently used and new bras that are sent to El Salvador to women who were rescued from the sex industry. These women sell these bras enabling them to have an income and freedom to change their lives.


Grants     We give $500 grants to various 501 (C) (3) organizations to assist with their missions.


Heifer     Heifer is an organization who supplies animals to families in impoverished countries.  We provide monetary donations to purchase animals for these families or participate in their milk program and to help provide clean water to villages and milk to the school children.


Knit Wits    Knit Wits is a section of our club that consists of 12 women who meet and knit scarves and caps for Hope Hospice and shelters.

Legislation    We monitor legislation that is on-going on in the State of California as well as nationally.  We mail, telephone and/or e-mail government officials to add our support to the various bills and issues being considered.


Operation Smile    The club sends supplies, such as blankets, crayons, and coloring books, for children born with cleft palates.  We send funds to assist with payment for surgeries so that these children can live a more normal life, free of disfigurement.

Penny Pines    This is a reforestation project unique to the State of California. We forward a monetary a donation to replant a one square acre plot of trees in memory of a member, or their spouse, when they pass away.


Pull Tabs    Members save pull-tabs from cans and the club then gives the pull-tabs to Ronald McDonald House charity.  This charity uses them to help pay for accommodation housing enabling parents to stay close by while their child is hospitalized. 


San Ramon Historic Foundation     Our club, as a member of the San Ramon Historic Foundation, help to support the preservation of San Ramon's early farms and homesteads.


Scholarships    $1000.00 in scholarships is donated by the club to deserving seniors and re-entry older students. The recipients of these scholarships attend a general meeting where they are recognized for their accomplishments and presented with their scholarships.


Seat Belt Snuggies     Club members sew, stuff and send Seat-belt Snuggies to Chemotherapy sites to give to chemo patients who have a "port". The snuggie is secured on the seat-belt thus making it more comfortable when worn across the patient's port site.


Shelter Supplies     Residents who live at shelters are required to keep their spaces clean and neat.  We hold a cleaning supply drive once a year,  We donate these supplies to the residents to help them keep their spaces fresh, neat and clean at no cost to them.


Saint Patrick's Day Parade    Whether rain or shine, we dress in green, march in Dublin's parade and hand out windmills to the many children present who are viewing the parade.

Student Art Contest    Each winter, we hold a student art contest for the student residents of Dublin and San Ramon in grades K thru 12. After the art is judged by local artists, it is displayed in the San Ramon Civic Center for public viewing. At a reception for the students and their families, students receive a small monetary prize for their artistic talents.. 


Teen Job Fair     Every March, the club holds a "Teen Job Fair" when local business leaders and business owners participate in a mock interview with students wishing to be hired for a summer job.  Club members register participants for this event.  The Teens attend short classes held on teen employment, and are treated to pizza and soda during the day.  Club members participate to serve the food and drink as well as participate in mock interviews with the many  students who attend.


Valley Children's Museum     Monetary donations are made to this new and up-coming Valley museum.


Valley Humane/East Bay SPCA      As a club, we hold drives for the cats, dogs, as well as the many other pets in these shelters.  We help to provide many of the necessary items, such as food, toys, blankets, paper towels, and used bath towels etc., that such shelters need to care for these homeless animals.
